eBay Adventure – Sales Coming Out of the Blue

I relisted my items and a couple of days after receiving my bid on another item, I received two bids from a new buyer. I was particularly happy that she bid higher than the repeat person whom I declined. My item was for $100 and she had the unmitigated gall to bid $40 again. The new bidder gave me $80 so it was hers. My rule was I was getting at least 50% because hey this was a business. Furthermore, if they did not sell this time, I would put them on dePop. I was grateful for that especially since I reposted these shoes multiple times (I was also happy that I had no insertion fees.).

I started retweeting my current offerings on Twitter (Must strike while the iron is hot!). Also I have scheduled my eBay adventure posts in Hootsuite across all of my social media platforms. It is important to keep it going because I do want to be paid for my decluttering effort!

eBay Adventure - Something Doesn't Seem Right

Okay it was Sunday and 4 out of my 6 buyers have paid me. The two biggest buyers have not and this concerns me. I check them out and learn that they are NARU (no longer a registered user). What a bitch! These two users had me thinking that I made $1000 in sales. Moreover. I am pissed that this buyer makes me bypass the $300 cash in hand that I could have had on Friday. Hey, 60% was better than $0 and I still would had made my $1000 goal. Now I had to contact @askeBay on Twitter about NARU. I will either block them and/or file a fraud complaint because how did you hold up my money then quit eBay?! Just plain raggedy! Furthermore, I am a bind because I had plans for that money. Just remember, never plan until cash in hand! However, I did think that I will rebound from this debacle. Hey, this was a first time for everything but dang it why those fraudsters had to hit me? Below was one of the two NARU that bought my shoes. Well, I decided to look on the bright side: I had 4 sales which were income generating.

Preparing for the Project Management Institute's New Professional Business Analyst (PMI-PBA) Certification

Friday I learned from Project Management Institute’s Twitter that it is holding a Professional Business Analyst (PMI-PBA) certification pilot program.  This motivated to read PMBOK, BABOK and purchase a study book to prepare.  Unlike my PMI-ACP certification endeavor (which I will return to later this year), I have a lot more overlap with business analysis than agile.  I have a PMP, MBA, business analysis education and 8 years’ business analysis experience.  I would easily qualify.

After debating and expending much energy deciding whether or not to return to my office, I’ve discovered that I can copy and paste the BABOK to Word enabling me to create a chapter 1 summary sheet. There is a whole lot of information that I must grasp but I am ready to absorb everything in order to pass the PMI-BPA pilot program.  Though 61% is probably the passage rate, I am aiming for 80% and will accomplish this through using CBAP exam materials.  I do think that buying the Rita Mulachy CBAP flashcards and writing down a couple per day will help me become stronger in the business analysis area. Even though this is chapter 1, there is so many differences between business analysis and project management. I have to learn the lingo. My brain is expanding with blood circulating through parts of my brain I probably haven’t used since studying for my PMP last year.
