My Aha Moment

Today is the first day that I have felt like a success at my job because I have managed to correct all of my mistakes. Thus far, I have completed five links and with Audese out I will probably complete ten. Knowing that I am proficiently performing all assigned tasks without much assistance! This means that I can go to lunch at 12:00pm or 12:30pm without fearing some systems malfunction.

During lunch, I will ea shrimp at the Galleria Gyro spot while writing the answers to the Program Analyst announcement. The Wright Patterson Air Force has opened this vacancy for 24 hours, I am intent on applying because I can travel and get paid simultaneously J

Instead of running around finishing errands, I will just lay back and enjoy the sunshine without thinking “oh my goodness I need to finish this else the entire world will end.” None of that today. I will be okay if fashion designer Druewho? Doesn’t return my phone call. I will be okay to wait twenty-four hours until I apply for the voice class. I have just electronically transferred. Let’s not allow it to burn a whole into my wallet just yet.

Even though I forgot to pack the vacancy announcement, I still had a very good lunch. Enjoying the lake’s breeze and sunshine, these elements replenished me. The sun’s rays took to my skin like chloroform to a plant. It feel wonderful to soak in the sun free from responsibilities for just an hour.

While daydreaming I often wondered about my former coworkers at First American across the street. Reggie informed me that they had their interviews last week. Since tomorrow is Friday, I will probably run into someone tomorrow on the group’s timecard run to Kelly Services. I am interested in knowing the status of everyone there; and, I hope that everyone is hired. The last job was okay but it left very unsatisfied. Once I got the hang of this one, I felt better because I was doing something on a mentally stimulating level. I was on a computer, entering data into enterprise software and getting paid like an adult. No more monotony!

For the remainder to today I will finish the nineteenth. There are only four links to be created and they would be completed by the end of today. Thus, today’s total would be eleven links, a personal best; and, more importantly, no catastrophic failures J

During the break, I will fax my transcripts for the GG-0343-09 T Program Analyst vacancy. I know that I will complete the online profile at the library after work. I am happy that I have the resources to apply for this position, because had I been in my former temp job, I could have capitalized upon this opportunity because there wasn’t any Internet access.

I have printed the BEA paper which will improve my economic understanding for the assessment test. Immediately before departing for the second break, I will visit my email and print out some more reports. Having passed the BLS assessment test, my goal is to reach at least 90%. The tests are the same so how can I go wrong?

During my afternoon break, I paid $5 towards the Project Act charity so that I could wear jeans Friday. The secretary even copied the memo for me. Then I went to Kinko’s to fax my transcripts for the Program Analyst vacancy but this man plugged the fax machine resending a document even though the line was completely busy the entire time. I asked a worker if the one behind the counter worked and she replied, “No, it didn’t receive a signal.” Okay. Returning to the other machine, I tried to send my documents but to no avail because it was jammed with busy requests from the man. This errand went from five to ten minutes to nearly twenty. Luckily, I didn’t have to check in and out else I’d be screwed!

Now I will go to the library just to apply for the Program Analyst position then leave to fax the transcripts so that I do have to wait for the 6:40pm bus. At least I arrived at 7:30am allowing me to depart at 4:30pm. J However, that episode inconvenienced me big time.

Leaving work, I attempted to resubmit my transcripts using both numbers but to no avail. So much for that plan. However, I did apply for the Regional Economist position. Though it is in Alaska, there is 25% relocation assistance if I consider the position.

My day has gone well and here’s to hoping that tomorrow is a repeat.
