Faster Is Not Always Better

Today I interviewed for the Quality Control Clerk position but during the conversation with the recruiter she mentioned the Online Searcher post which I believed that I could be more of an asset to this organization. Immediately she returned with two men who worked for that department. This exchange also went for everything but one: the salary. Neither man mentioned the job's pay rate only said that it was hourly and available for overtime.

This astounded me because I refuse to work for any employer without knowing my starting rate! Remember, faster is not always better!

Which takes me to the next story about my New York Citytravel plans. Next week, I have an interview with a big-time employer and I have succumbed to my insecurities of riding the Greyhound to and fro the interview so I plunged an exorbitant amount of money on a plane ticket to keep this mirage of first-class professional going. Nevermind, that I know that I am currently unemployed, without a car and have accepted an interview with an insurance which I must catch a cab back from because the bus doesn't run after rush hour! It is all spur of the moment but I do feel somewhat validated and vindicated amount my actions. Hey, I could say that when I secure the New York job that that was the past and this is the present! :)

Just remember, faster is not always better! I will write additional entries regarding my interviewing experiences and the New York trip.
