eBay Adventure – Keeper of my Word

I have noticed as of lately that people are emailing me after the sale. Yesterday is the same. I received an email for my Stuart Weitzman Dunkirk boots saying that she would pay $75. I quickly relisted changing it from auction to fixed price. I gave it $100 fixed price emailing her back then returning to sleep.
This morning I see 2 bids: 1) for $90 and 2) the other $75. Well, I have kept my word accepting the $75. Although the other bid is $15 more but I am kept my word. Integrity is very important to me as a businesswoman. It is the best way to run my shop.

eBay Adventure – Sucking It Up

My two goals are to declutter and make money on eBay (I mean, I am learning how to operate an online store which is a must for an entrepreneur.). I have been putting off selling my most expensive shoes. However, after putting up all of my white dresses on eBay and receiving no sales (I guess my customers are only interested in my shoes), I have sucked it up and put my two priciest pairs of shoes on eBay. Here they are below:

Gianvito Rossi black lace sandals

Zanotti gold mules

I will have to find another avenue to sell my clothes. I am very serious about decluttering and need to sell these clothes. I will check out other sites and even some thrift stores. I will sell everything that I no longer wear because it would be better served with someone else wearing my stuff. Here is a collage with some of the clothes.

Live from the Front Lines of the Gilt City Warehouse Sale!

Today is the start of the Gilt City DC’s warehouse sale. It is located this year at Dock 5 of the Union Market. This is behind the shops off of Neal Street NE. I have attended the biannual Gilt City warehouse sale since its inception and have reported on it through this very blog (http://bit.ly/21ffFu0 ). I have attended the first access media event. Gilt City has sent me a private email link before the regular tickets go on sale because I am a premium client, have been here before and the site follows me on Twitter. The first access media event benefits are getting first crack at all of the goodies. This is great when both my dress and shoe size is 12. Speaking of shoe size, I am happy that Gilt City has (finally) stocked my shoe size!

In addition, to shoes, I have snagged the white Diane von Furstenberg dress and two Alice + Olivia dresses. These are two of my favorite designers plus I couldn’t resist the Alice + Olivia sparkle! I absolutely love sequins and they make me feel feminine.

Another bonus is the extra discounts coming from certain colored tags. I manage to score an extra 20% off my blue Alice + Olivia dress because it has a lavender tag.

I hope that these insider tidbits guide you through your Gilt City warehouse sale visit. This event is happening today and tomorrow. Here is the link to purchase tickets (http://gi.lt/1oQY4uA). Hurry up because they are going fast and you save hundreds of dollars in one place!

Making the Most of the Memorial Day Shoe Sales

I have taken full advantage of this week’s Memorial Day sales stocking up on shoes. I need more shoes for the summer and what better than Stuart Weitzman, my favorite brand! Neiman Marcus has both sandals ½ off. I snap up the tan and brown ones. Net-a-Porter sale is a Godsend because I love these Giuseppe Zanotti metallic leather sandals. I’ve been waiting for 3 months for them to go on sale. The minute that Net-a-Porter’s summer sale hits the US, I hop on them. It took 2 hours of tweeting Net-a-Porter and refreshing both my desktop and Blackberry to enter my credit card information but I claim victory and the Zanotti sandals! Amazingly, Net-a-Porter ship them the same day arriving to my home on Wednesday. Here is a photo of all of them!

High Fashion Meets High Savings

Yippie! Nordstrom has the Alice + Olivia Charla leopard-print trench coat in large for $317 instead of $478.  The only reason how I learn this is because the Alice + Olivia store is having a 20% off Friends & Family sale.  The company already has the trench coat on sale for $478 so I do a Google search and learn that Nordstrom has it for $317.  Even though I checked before and large was sold out, I check again.  When the site says large, I put this in my cart ASAP! I am saving $161!  The secretary’s words hit me upon buying the coat. When I told her that I wouldn’t buy the trench at Nordstrom Tysons two weeks ago because booking my fashion week Cleveland trip was the priority, She told me that it would be cheaper.  Now it is and I’ll probably receive it by Wednesday, May 1st. I will be rocking it!

Friday Night’s Gilt City DC Warehouse Sale

This Friday I attended Gilt City DC’s warehouse sale.  Two weeks ago I purchased the opening evening ticket as soon as the event went live because I knew that the early bird got the worm.  This was going to be a hot ticket.  My budget was $350 and was happy that the Valentino dress that I bought was $349 ($364 after taxes).  Its original price was $1990.  Grabbing that made me feel victorious. Yeah, I went over to the purses and shoes even though I wasn’t looking at the former and the latter didn’t go to size 42.  Below is my catch!
